Accomplishments/ Challenges
Anne had many struggles during her life. She had to live in a businesses attic for 2 years. Her dad was taken away from her when the family got captured, and she would never be able to communicate or see him again. Her mom fell ill and died at a separate concentration camp than Anne and Margot. But most importantly, after Anne died, researchers discovered that Anne and her family were betrayed by someone who was secretly working with the Gestapo. The person still remains anonymous, but people believe it to be a man named Wilhelm Van Maaren. He had a past criminal record, and he was the family business's stock room manager. Some people say that working there was his way of finding out the Frank's plan to where and when they were going to be going into hiding. This would've been a huge struggle to Anne. Imagine how you would feel if a "family friend" betrayed you to get you killed? However, Anne's life wasn't ALL bad. She had some good times in her life too. Her dad fulfilled her dream of getting her diary published. Now, it's available in 67 different languages! Even though Anne never got to see these moments, I'm sure she knows deep down in her heart.
